Unboxing and overview

The inclusion of a carrying case is a pleasant surprise. This accessory was missing from the Harpe ACE and Edition 20 we had the opportunity to try. It is a welcome addition for carrying the mouse and its accessories.

We like the red just as much as we do on the keyboard. It will not suit every setup, but we think the result works well. During handling, the shell did not seem particularly prone to marks.

A shape worth trying in your hand

The Gladius feels bulkier in the hand than a Harpe ACE, with a more pronounced hump. Its grip reminds us more of the Logitech G Pro X Superlight DEX. This comparison concerns the shape and does not mean that the clicks or scroll wheel feel the same.

Not everyone agreed on this point. Its shape did not suit us personally, while the other people we asked liked it. That does not make it a flaw that applies to every user. Above all, it is a useful reminder that even with a high-end product, hand shape and habits matter a great deal.

Conclusion

The Gladius IV ACE makes a good first impression, with an attractive red finish and a welcome carrying case. The main thing to check before buying remains its shape: it may feel very comfortable to some and less natural to others.

The red version is listed at €169.99. That is a substantial amount for a mouse. At that price, we would first try it in the hand to make sure its ergonomics suit us.
