Understanding the stated 748 GB

The platform combines an NVIDIA Grace processor with 72 Arm cores and a Blackwell Ultra GPU. Its 748 GB comprise 496 GB of CPU-side LPDDR5X and 252 GB of GPU-side HBM3e, linked through NVLink-C2C. This total describes a coherent architecture; it does not mean all that memory is HBM3e with identical access characteristics.

This distinction matters when assessing a workload. Data placement and how software uses the CPU and GPU can affect the result. Large capacity enables some scenarios but does not replace validation of the intended model and workload.

Variants that require careful reading

The ET900N G3-8T-07 variant documented in the sources adds an RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q Workstation Edition with 96 GB of GDDR7 ECC. This card is separate from the GB300 GPU. Its memory must not automatically be added to the 748 GB and presented as one uniformly usable pool.

This configuration also has four 2 TB SSDs, totalling 8 TB raw. Usable space depends in particular on drive organisation and the chosen RAID setup. Other catalogue variants change storage or the additional graphics card: compare complete part numbers, not just the ET900N G3 name.

Preparing the installation

The specification mentions very-high-speed ConnectX-8 connectivity, 10 GbE networking and a dedicated management interface. Such equipment requires checking cabling, necessary network modules and existing infrastructure compatibility.

The chassis is specified at around 27 kg, with a 1,600 W power supply. That rating is not a measured operating consumption. It nevertheless requires preparing the workstation's location, as do its dimensions and cooling requirements.

Coherent memory, very different bandwidths

ASUS specifies 396 GB/s for CPU memory versus 7.1 TB/s for GPU HBM3e. These figures explain the distinction between the two parts of the pool: sharing a coherent address space does not make every memory access equivalent. Software and data placement therefore remain crucial.

Remote management uses an ASPEED AST2600 BMC with IPMI 2.0 and Redfish. It administers the station independently of compute applications. ASUS documents Ubuntu and NVIDIA tools for the platform; the preinstalled OS, licences and supplied services must be specified for the ordered configuration.

The ten listed ET900N G3 SKUs

The table brings together ten configurations found in the French catalogue consulted on 28 October 2026. All share GB300 and 748 GB of coherent CPU–GPU memory. These are the configurations documented here, without claiming to cover every variant sold worldwide. Storage figures are raw; “no RTX specified” does not mean the main Blackwell Ultra GPU is absent.

The 4T-03 and 8T-08 variants mention a Wi-Fi module, with the standard still to be specified. The 8T-08 lists four QSFP modules and the 8T-09 two; their optical part numbers need confirmation. These accessories do not add ports: the platform retains two ConnectX-8 ports. Other listings do not mention included QSFP modules.

Key takeaways

The commercial offer consulted is project-based, subject to NVIDIA approval and completion of documentation. These terms should be confirmed with the chosen supplier. The ET900N G3 should therefore be treated as a platform to qualify together with that supplier: exact configuration, software, installation and support matter as much as hardware capacity.
